Dear Picks People… the last instalment of 2016!
I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season and may the new year be a little kinder, gentler, and brighter than the one gone by.
In 2017 may you be given the opportunity to rediscover your strengths and realize your dreams.
I’ll be taking a short hiatus getting warmed up in Mexico but expect another picks instalment on/around January 24/25th.
TILL NEXT YEAR….

One More Time With Feeling
Originally a performance based concept, this follow up to Nick Cave’s 20 000 Days on Earth evolved into something much more significant as Andrew Dominik delved into the tragic backdrop of the writing and recording of the Skeleton Tree album, after Nick’s teenage son Arthur died in a tragic accident.

McCabe & Mrs Miller (Leonard Cohen Tribute Screening)
Possibly the gretestmovie ever filmed inB.C. John “Pudgy” McCabe (Warren Beatty) is the archetypal gunfighter looking to get out from under his reputation. But he’s a sorry kind of a hero. Arriving in the upstart Northwestern mining town of Presbyterian Church (shot just over the hill, near West Vancouver), McCabe is a gambler who sees a chance to establish a brothel – but he shows no head for business, is easily out-classed by Julie Christie’s Mrs Miller, and he’s plainly out of his depth when a big mining corporation sends in negotiators to secure its stranglehold on the local economy.
Leonard Cohen songs throughout!!
